Multiple lights not working including motorway

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding the complete lack of street lighting at the bottom of Hollins Road, around the M60 motorway bridge, including the slip road onto the motorway and the lighting in the immediate area of the motorway.

At present, this area is pitch black at night due to there being no functioning street lighting. This creates a serious and unacceptable safety risk for pedestrians, motorists and local residents.

I am reporting this matter because my son was mugged at this location over the weekend. The fact that the area is so poorly lit, with virtually no visibility at night, makes it an ideal location for criminals to approach and target people without being easily seen. 2 men attacked him from the overgrown bush/grass area just as you go over the bridge. He was unable to see them due to no lights.

This is not simply a matter of inconvenience or poor lighting. There is now a very real and serious safety concern. My son has been the victim of a crime in an area that is completely dark, and I am extremely concerned that unless something is done, somebody else could be seriously hurt or another person could become a victim of crime.

I would like to know:

Why there is currently no street lighting operating at this location. Whether the lighting has been reported as faulty or deliberately switched off. Who is responsible for maintaining the lighting in this area. When the lighting will be repaired or restored. Whether the council/highways authority is aware of the recent criminal activity at this location. What immediate measures are being considered to improve safety until the lighting is restored.

I would also ask that this complaint is treated as an urgent public safety issue, rather than simply being logged as a routine lighting fault. The fact that my son has already been mugged there demonstrates the very real consequences of leaving this area completely unlit.

Please investigate this urgently and provide me with a clear response explaining what action will be taken and when the lighting will be restored.

I would also appreciate confirmation that this location will be assessed from a public safety and crime-prevention perspective, particularly given the recent incident involving my son.
