Dead fox on central reservation and a rabbit on the side of the road eastbound side, unsure if the rabbit is alive. This was just before the first Ivybridge exit slipway (park and ride), Ermington, Ugborough.

The fox I think is a young one and looks to be dead as lying by the central reservation but the rabbit looked in an upright position but wasn't moving, unsure if it is alive or not. The rabbit is on the other side so on the lefthand side of the road. If alive, I am worried about it in the heat as well as being so close to the road. It was just before the turn off and on the eastbound carriageway.

Safety is our highest priority and any animals on the carriage way that pose a risk to vehicles and their occupants will be removed as quickly and safely as possible.
Household pets, such as a dogs and cats, will be retrieved, and we endeavour to reunite pets with their owners if they can be identified through microchips or other identification.
Wild animals, lying off the carriageway, on verges or the central reservation, are normally left to naturally decay. However, they will be removed if they are considered a hazard, a danger to public health or there is a statutory obligation for testing or removal.
Our local inspector team will make these assessments during their regular safety inspections.
