White lines, markings

Reported via desktop in the Faded / Hard to see (NH) category anonymously at 09:59, Monday 3 August 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9888365.

Faded and invisible road markings at the roundabout connecting Victoria St, New Market St, and Edgar St. This is a busy multi-lane junction. The lack of markings causes extreme confusion and near-misses, especially for new and inexperienced drivers. Additionally, when turning right from Victoria St onto Eign St, markings are completely worn out. The road merges from two lanes into one, but without clear boundaries, drivers do not know who has priority, creating a high collision risk. Please inspect this location urgently and schedule immediate repainting of all lane markings to ensure road safety.

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.
