Verge trees and vegetation obstructing view for safe exit from farm track land exit gate

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 20:57, Tuesday 7 July 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9750488.

Trees and vegetation on the west side of our farm and fishing lake exit gate our restricting safe exit for farm vehicles and fishing club members. We have maintained this exit/entrance gate for over 20 years but now find trees and plant growth along the west bound highway verge is both dangerous and beyond our control. The gate adjacent to ours is used by the Slip and Slide as an exit gate with a sign telling visitors to turn left on exit due to lack of vision for traffic coming from the west. Many take no notice, take a chance and turn right (an accident waiting to happen) I await your favourable response Clifford Horton

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

We are pleased to confirm that the issue you reported has now been resolved in respect to the overgrown grass. We hope that this improves any future experience you have using this road. We will look to check this weekly on our inspections.

The issue with the overhanging trees mentioned are from the neighbouring land owner and not under our jurisdiction unfortunately.

    Kind regards
