Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

I'm sorry to hear you've encountered a dangerous situation and can appreciate the concern you've raised. All contractors have to display a 'Highways Maintenance' sign together with the yellow/red/orange chevrons on the rear of the vehicle by law. This means that there are many thousands of vehicles on the road with these signs on them, a small percentage of which belong to us and our contractors.

If it is one of our vehicles, it will carry the National Highways logo, or display a sign saying Traffic Officer.

At National Highways we take safe driving very seriously, however, we are not a law enforcement organisation so we are very limited in the actions we can take. If the police are provided with a vehicle registration, they can investigate and take the appropriate action. We advise you to contact the police on telephone number 101 and inform them of this incident.

    Kind regards

    National Highways.
