Beeper on pedestrian crossing is too loud

The pedestrian crossings traffic lights beeper is the same volume as my domestic smoke alarm and goes off up to 100 times a day 24/7. Unsociable hours and is a disturbing volume. It is right outside my flat window, it wakes me up at night, I am struggling working from home with it and I am unable to watch tv or relax in the evening due to it constantly going off at a ear piercing volume. Can it please be turned down, turned off completely or another type of crossing fitted? It is actually causing me headaches. Other flats and businesses agre that the volume of it is too loud.
