I attended an RTC on 07/06 at the top of the off slip A43 S/B at Syresham, where you turn left for Biddlesden, right for Syresham. The vehicle involved was completely at fault but I am concerned that the signage and road marking are inadequate for the T junction. The speed with which drivers leave the A43 catches them out and there are no ‘GIVE WAY’ signs approaching the T junction.
I’ve just had a chat with the lady who owns the farm at the top of the slip road, she says this is the fifth RTC of this nature in the last 20 odd years and her concern is the lack of signage and the impact that has potentially upon her livestock (cows and a bull) in that field if they escape. She is happy to discuss with you if needed and she is Jenny Patterson of Abbey Way Farm, Syresham NN13 5HJ tel. [phone removed].
I’ll complete a Fix My Street for the damaged road barriers but I honestly think this junction needs a review and some fresh/additional road markings/SLOW signs and some GIVE WAY signs to prevent someone from dying at this junction.
Let me know your thoughts, as ever, happy to meet at the location if needed.
Many thanks Mel
