Flags attached the the bridge

Hi,
I would like to report a number of unauthorised flags attached to the bridge railings and street furniture over the M42 at Blythe Valley, near Shirley.
These flags have been fixed to public street furniture without permission. This appears to constitute unlawful flyposting and unauthorised attachment to highway infrastructure under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the Highways Act 1980.
Given the location on a motorway bridge, they pose a significant safety risk to drivers if they become loose or detached at high speed. Unauthorised items attached to lampposts may also obstruct visibility, create electrical or maintenance hazards, and place unnecessary strain on public infrastructure.
As these flags are attached to council or highway property without authorisation, I would request that they are inspected and removed as soon as possible.

We have passed this to one of our local inspectors to confirm that this is on our property. Safety is our priority and we do all we can to protect those who use our roads. Items such as flags attached to a bridge could pose a danger to motorists on the road below and so may need to be removed for safety reasons.
