Grass obscuring line of sight at junction

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 18:10, Friday 12 June 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9569186.

The grass on the triangle at the junction of the A64 and High Hutton is so high that it obscures the line of sight eastwards (towards Malton) making it difficult and dangerous when pulling out of the High Hutton lane end. The grass also needs cutting on the section of verge between this junction and the row of Slip Inn Cottages, because this has also severely reduced the visibility of vehicles approaching from Malton.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report.

We can advise that vegetation works in this area are currently in progress. Our contractors are currently working through the Stockton area and will be in High Hutton by the end of June / beginning of July.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
