Road closure signs

Reported via mobile in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 21:26, Thursday 4 June 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9564031.

At the junction to turn off the A64 to Barton Hill the road closure signs are on the A64 carriageway rather than on the side road. This area is an accident hotspot anyway with the signs making additional problems for traffic. If someone travelling at 70mph ran over a road closure sign there could be an accident.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report.

We have asked our traffic management provider to check the placement of signs. If we are closing a road, we do have to sign all approaches but understand they should not cause an obstruction.

    Kind regards
