Overgrown vegetation in central reservation turning right, across the southbound A1 c/w into New Road, Beeston

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 17:33, Tuesday 26 May 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9509707.

Visibility reduced to zero across both lanes of the A1 southbound as you cross from the northbound carriageway into New Road, causing several near misses whilst I was there alone. This causes a risk to both those attempting to cross, and those travelling south.

Having worked in Roads Policing and dealing with road related accidents, should there be (yet another) serious injury or fatal RTC at this junction, the lack of visibility caused by the overgrown plants etc would be a key contributing factor in that serious injury or loss of life.
