Growth blocking view

Reported via mobile in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 22:08, Thursday 21 May 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9490191.

Around this time of the year, the vegetation in the middle of the A30 becomes out of control and starts to block the view of anyone standing at the traffic lights. The weeds and now 4ft tall and need to be cut down ASAP.

Updates

  • The weeds are now 5 ft high absolute danger for children crossing the road from Hospital side towards the Harvester. There will be blame if a child gets hit crossing the road at this crossing. It is the same every year at this time, can it not be resolved permanently ? John Blackburn Transport Manager Ashford Hospital 01784884184

  • I had a very close shave this morning as I was coming to the junction to turn right and a Child cross out in front of me, luckily I saw the child just in time, but this is a joke now. I can’t even see the green light at distance until your on top of the lights
