Lane Out for 5 Months

Reported via mobile in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 18:18, Thursday 7 May 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9416877.

A lane has been closed for almost 5 months on the southbound on ramp at M66 Jct 2. This is causing a considerable back log throughout Bury and is making a 10 to 15 minute journey a 45 to 50 minute journey plus. This is having a negative impact on the residents of the Bury area and as much as I understand works can take longer, in this case I believe 5 months is excessive for something that looks like a simple barrier repair that should have been sorted with the road resurfacing in March / April. There is also a lack of information available on why this is taking so long which I’m sure would be appreciated by many Bury residents.
