Several dead deer

There are at least 3 or 4 dead deer on the verges or central reservation on both the northbound and southbound carriageways. There was originally one one which I expected to be cleared when the roadworks were taking place but it seems that the roadworks or something else may have disturbed them and there is now a more serious deer issue in this area. On the northbound carriageway in particular, a short ways into the 5 mile stretch currently undergoing roadworks, there is a deer that has been growing increasingly bloated over the past 3 days. This indicates that it has no external wounds and that gases are building up inside it as it decomposes with nowhere to escape. It won't be long before it bursts and causes a far more upsetting scene than there is on this road currently. Please can the poor things be collected and disposed of, and perhaps the relevant authorities might consider some kind of mesh/netting fences to prevent them crossing at all until the roadworks are completed?

Safety is our highest priority and any animals on the carriage way that pose a risk to vehicles and their occupants will be removed as quickly and safely as possible.
Household pets, such as a dogs and cats, will be retrieved, and we endeavour to reunite pets with their owners if they can be identified through microchips or other identification.
Wild animals, lying off the carriageway, on verges or the central reservation, are normally left to naturally decay. However, they will be removed if they are considered a hazard, a danger to public health or there is a statutory obligation for testing or removal.
Our local inspector team will make these assessments during their regular safety inspections.
