Road Restraint System - Central Reserve

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 12:43, Thursday 23 April 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9342188.

I would like to report a safety concern regarding a section of the central reserve where there is currently no VRS (vehicle restraint system) protection. While it appears this location may be intended as an emergency crossing point, the length of the gap in the VRS significantly exceeds what would be expected for such use. Additionally, there should not be extended or unprotected gaps within the VRS system.

This presents a potential hazard, and I recommend that the section is reviewed and appropriate measures are taken to ensure continuous and adequate protection.
