Blocked drainage due to overgrowth

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 19:49, Wednesday 15 April 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9300398.

The full stretch of the M66 / A56 between Manchester and Rawtenstall is effected by heavily blocked drains due to debris and overgrowth, causing the lanes to become flooded and extremely deep water, this is the reason lots of severe accidents are taking place on this stretch with lots of vehicles aquaplaning (both Northbound and Southbound), tonight another serious accident has taken place due to this issue, it is perfectly fine during dry weather but the moment is starts to rain its a major problem, and with heavy rain it then becomes life threatening issue, I hope this message is taken seriously and action is taken
