Heavy corrosion on traffic light pole

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 10:07, Friday 3 April 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9234343.

There is a traffic light pole on the M4 junction 19 roundabout on the near side as you go from the M32 outbound, underneath the M4 on the roundabout as if you were heading towards the M4 eastbound. It is near to the traffic light controller cabinet. It is not on the M4 junction 19 eastbound exit slip.

Said traffic light pole is heavily corroded, so much that there is a hole at the base and you can see the orange armoured cable inside.

I have concerns that the corrosion will spread and affect the structural integrity of this pole and worse case, the pole will eventually fall over. It has been this way for a considerable period of time and I'm surprised your inspectors or sub contractors haven't reported this already.
