Completely blocked drain

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category by Chris Hine at 18:47, Wednesday 1 April 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9227275.

I have reported this blocked drain on two previous occasions, your ref FMS 8964228 and FMS 9198138. Today you claimed that the drain which is adjacent to the bus stop by the Arundel Park Hotel, on the slip road leading to Arundel Station has been cleared. It has not, it is still completely blocked with mud. West Sussex County Council tell me that you are responsibke for this road and obviously, this drain. It is obvious that it has not been cleared so please clear out the drain because it causes flooding. I emphasise that the drain is just on the slip road leading from Arundel Station to the A27 just next to the bus stop by the Arundel Park Hotel.

Updates

  • Thank you for your further comment, and we're sorry for any previous miscommunication.

While we're aware of the blocked drain on the slip road leading to the station the slip road isn't part of our network and the drain isn't one of our maintainable assets.

We would recommend contacting West Sussex County Council or Network Rail to establish who is responsible for maintaining this drain.

    Kind regards
