Clearance of trees and shrubs for powerlines on national highways land

Reported via desktop in the Fallen/ Dead Tree (NH) category anonymously at 11:08, Friday 27 March 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9197569.

Recent work completed on national highways land at ///staple.manliness.soils to clear trees and shrubs from nearby powerlines has clearcut a large area. The volume of clearance appears to be excessive, poorly planned and does not include consideration for the impacts on nature. Trees has been felled to lay over a pond. Wood chips have been left in piles. Fencing, traffic cones and other items were left onsite and not cleared. A more limited and targeted approach to managing the growth nearby to the powerlines seems as though it would have been be better suited.
