Lack of barriers

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 09:09, Wednesday 25 March 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9182826.

There is a shared use cycle path/footpath which runs between Ivybridge and Lee Mill. It is very exposed to the east-bound carriageway and for this reason, i am sure it puts people off using it with confidence. Is there any process by which i can request barriers along this short section are looked at or considered?

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning barriers.

We understand their concern regarding the lack of barriers. We will assess the location to see if it’s feasible and what is possible. If that is the case, then it will be added to our prioritisation list and based on our network needs and available funding then something can potentially be done.

If you require any further information, please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards
