Barbed wire fencing down, debris accumulations, heavily silted walkway under the M1 underpass by the river.

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 14:44, Wednesday 18 March 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9136183.

At this location the M1 crosses the River Rother and there are walkways beneath the road bridge on either bank to allow landowner access. The right bank (east bank) is a public footpath and that is clear but the left bank (west bank) is heavily silted from the river making landowner access very difficult and a hazard. There are also build ups of debris, vegetation and old barbed wire fences at the boundary of the highways land with the overpass and the private land to the south of the bridge that need clearing as it is somewhat hazardous.
