Fence damaged

Reported via desktop in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 09:32, Sunday 8 March 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9066324.

The fence is damaged on the edge of the dual carriageway. we have done a temporary repair to contain our livestock within the field. however a permanent repair/replacement of the post and rail fence is required. we understand that due to this post and rail fence being located behind a trunk road layby that maintenance and repair is the responsibility of national highways. if national highways disagrees can you please let us know. this damage has been reported 3 times since june 2025. can someone please contact us about this rather than just putting an automated response on this post as it needs to have a permanent repair/renewal and if national highways are not responsible we need to know who should take responsiblity. can you please arrange for a surveyor to contact us so that we can meet on site to discuss
