Rad surface on bridge above motorway very badly potholed
Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 15:17, Saturday 7 March 2026
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9064158.
The bridge from Overthorpe to Banbury crosses the m40. The road surface immediately above the motorway is now so badly broken down that there’s a risk of debris being knocked onto the motorway or cars swerving to avoid potholes potentially hitting the side of the bridge.
The council have failed to attend this for many months. It now poses a risk to users of the m40 so I’m hoping national highways will take more interest in the matter than Oxfordshire county council.

A series of deep potholes affect traffic in both directions causing swerving vehicles and likely collision over a 20 metres stretch of road.. The potholes further along the same stretch of road that fall under West Northants Council have been remedied.
