Bridge bearings failing

The concrete support for the bridge bearings are breaking away. This has degraded significantly since the first 2 pictures were taken in April 2025. The 3rd picture in September 2025 shows deterioration and no intervention or remedial work. If the bridge suffers an impact it could drop significantly. The bearings look to be seized breaking the support during lateral movement of the deck. Nearly a year since the first pictures there is no evidence of any repair.

  • No update reported. Concrete continues to breakaway from the top of the support pillar, the resulting debris on the carriageway is causing a hazard to drivers.
