Pothole growing

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9043283.

The pothole reported on 12th Feb 2026 has grown significantly and is now about half the width of the carriageway. Vehicles are slowing and moving out of the lane to avoid it. This area is already prone to severe tailbacks at peak times. Wheel and tyre damage likely if travelling at speed limit. Loss of control of vehicle risk increasing as pothole grows.

    If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

    Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
