The flooding is on both sides of the A5 heading towards the traffic lights

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 21:41, Monday 2 March 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9033245.

The road is constantly flooded and has been like it for the past 6 months. Signs were placed around 6 months ago to warn of the flood however no work has been done. The drains look blocked from all the sand/mud on the side of the road. The road is also full of small stones causing stone and windscreen chips alongside bodywork chips. The flooding is dangerous especially at night as it’s not visible due to there being no street lights and 50 mph. Sometimes the opposite side of the road floods now as well causing cars to swerve to the centre line posing a potential safety risk. The flooding poses risks to cyclists/motorcyclists.
