Significant debris / vegetation growth

Reported via desktop in the Overgrown or obscuring view (NH) category anonymously at 10:49, Sunday 1 March 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9020804.

Along a very long section of the A453 Remembrance way to Nottingham where there is a concrete wall central reservation which is designed to keep vehicles from crossing into oncoming traffic there is very very large piles of debris in numerous locations which has been left to build up and now vegetation growth has also taken place which most likely binds the debris piles together. This looks like it poses a significant risk of causing a vehicle which if it hit one of these large piles at speed, to be elevated to the point it could cause the vehicle to over turn into the carriage way instead of potentially just scraping down the wall in a controlled way should something unfortunate happen to a driver of a vehicle. It requires a significant clean up over a long section removing these large debris piles. I would think these piles of debris also play a role in stopping, slowing, restricting water flow for drainage of the carriage way reducing potential large areas of standing water and the risk of aqua planing. Google Maps shows these piles from images a couple of years ago, the issue will only get worse.
