Highways England reads the report and then closes it

Reported via iOS in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 09:06, Sunday 1 March 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9020252.

Highways England initially responded to say that this road was not their responsibility and advised me to contact the local council. They provided a government website where I could look up which council might be responsible, and then they closed the report.

I therefore submitted a second report. On this occasion, Highways England stated that they would investigate the matter, but the report was again closed shortly afterwards.

As a civil engineer who works directly with this type of issue, I have additional information that I would like to share. However, if reports are closed immediately, it makes meaningful communication and resolution difficult.

Please could these reports remain open until the matter is fully resolved? This would allow you to provide feedback, enable me to submit further information where necessary, and allow appropriate follow-up.
