Pothole in Fontwell

Reported via desktop in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 14:51, Friday 27 February 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 9012697.

I was driving in the left-hand lane back from Chichester on Wednesday 18th February 2026 at 16:00, and had to drive over a small (about the circumference of drinking cup/glass), but very deep pothole in the Fontwell area of the A27 on my way back from Chichester towards Ferring. There was no time to slow down or to move over the right-hand lane, so I had to drive over it. This completely shattered the suspension on my car, and I have had to pay £833.34 to get it fixed. This was not here when I drove the exactly same route on Tuesday 17th February 2026. I have not driven the route since.
