Dayburning for 12 months

Reported via desktop in the Continually On (NH) category anonymously at 09:58, Monday 23 February 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8978380.

I first noticed this on 26th February 2025 , and having worked in streetlighting appreciated there may be an underlying reason. I received a response saying that although it was using energy, would be monitored on inspector's routes. This is now approaching its first anniversary and has been dayburning every time I have passed it 4 times a week for nearly 12 months. I'd appreciate some feedback as opposed to a standard reply. Many thanks.

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
