Sections of the road surface are gone

Large sections of the road surface have broken away - in the outside lane. This has clearly been there for some time and is getting bigger. It will cause an accident as cars are moving to the inside lane at the last minute to avoid the damaged section of roadway.

    We're aware of the road surface deterioration along this stretch of the A27 and are currently finalising a 'patching' resurfacing scheme to address.

    In the meantime, we continue to monitor during our weekly safety inspections carried out by experienced inspectors and arrange any make safe interventions should further deterioration be considered a safety issue.
