Grid outside house numbers 65/67 Manchester Rd

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category by Cllr Allan Dyer at 19:51, Monday 16 February 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8934607.

The grid is broken in the sides and apperas to be collapsing. Every time a vehicle goes over it, bits of stones are being thrown in all directions and one of them hit me and one of my dogs today as I was walking past. I'm pretty tough but a child wouldn't be!! It's been broken for a while but is now getting progressively worse.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report.

We already have work scheduled on the stretch of road you reference to reset a gully due to a pothole forming.

However, we've asked our inspection team to attend the location and assess the grid to determine if further work is required.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
