Signpost for CCU Tools & Plant Hire Shop on green area next to junction of Wouldham Road and Nashenden Farm Lane Borstal Rochester Kent. The land is believed to be owned by National Highways. Last observed on 30/01/26

    This plot of land was acquired for the Local Highway Authority’s (LHA) network and is maintainable at public expense. It was obtained as part of a Side Roads Order, and National Highways is shown as holding the title.

    However, under Section 14 of the Highways Act 1980, land acquired through a Side Roads Order transfers to the LHA. National Highways retains title to the subsoil, while responsibility for maintenance and the surface known as the zone of ordinary use rests with the LHA . FindMyStreet confirms that this road is maintainable at public expense by Medway Council.

    This matter would be for Medway Council to review and take action if required.
