Westbound Garstang New Road junction with Mains Lane, nearside traffic light facing into fields

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 08:49, Sunday 15 February 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8921685.

The first set of nearside traffic lights on Garstang New Road, junction with Mains Lane, is facing into the fields. It partially obscures the repeat set of lights behind. This can cause confusion, as when on red, only the offside traffic lights can be seen which people are mistaking for the right turn lane. Further compounded by a set of green lights at the pedestrian crossing just beyond. Have seen several vehicles travel through red at 40mph believing they are approaching the junction on green.
