Sorry for the inaccurate description earlier. The issue on junction 38 is litter. There is a large amount of litter both northbound and southbound on the slip roads. The problem of litter also continues along the motorway between junction 38 and 39. Then it also continues down the slip roads of junction 39. A general litter pick is required.

Thank you for clarifying the issue and location.
We can confirm that litter jobs are planned for slips at junction 38, Woolley Services and junction 39, northbound and southbound.
Mainline between each junction will also be cleared.
These works are due to be completed (pending any extensions) by 14 March 2026.
