Flooding occuring on this stretch of road fast lane

Reported via Android in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 13:38, Monday 9 February 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8875334.

On Friday the 6th of February. I ended up in an accident. Due to a build up of water in the fast lane and random debris. The car overtaking me (I was doing 50/55 in the left lane due to the constant rain and standing water in the area). The car in the fast lane Aqua plained into the front side of my car. Shortly after within minutes other cars hit the same problem and popped their tyres also in the fast lane then hit water and jad to stop. We then had to wait 20 mins for the police The police have logged that area all day to call outs. Someone is going to get seriously injured or worse! I went past it this morning and you have put a hole bunch of cones down along the problem area. But not made it safer by erecting signs to warn of a flood risk or adopted the road to 50 until it is sorted. I am sick with worry over this blackspot. If the rain continues more accidents are going to happen there!

In the 20 mins we were waiting for police. Almost every car hitting it was aqua plaining. Hearing that and seeing cars snaking accross the water I don't think I can ever get that out of my head. Me and my son were very lucky to be driving sensibly.

Please asses this road and action ASAP to introduce measures until it can be fixed.
