Footpath from Cockwells lane to Crowlas westbound side

Reported via desktop in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 11:42, Friday 6 February 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8852399.

This is our footpath along the A30 to gain access to facilities in Crowlas. Walking on this path is getting increasingly awkward and dangerous at night when you cannot see anything due to no lighting. Over hanging trees and hedgerows are not high enough to walk underneath, brambles are growing into the path from head height down so you end up walking on the grass nearer to the traffic. Vegetation needs clearing back so there is actually a path to walk on. This needs to be done from Cockwells Lane all the way to Crowlas. This path is constantly getting overgrown. People use this path to get their provisions who do not drive, please make it usable for all.

Updates

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.
