Missing traffic light

This is the worst motorway junction in the UK. I have worked in car repair trade for 20 years & the amount of people that have accidents here is ridiculous. The issue is most apparent at rush hour. Despite the signpost at the base of the slip road, people cut into Letchworth from the A1 via the roundabout, this in turn stops the vehicles in the filter lane continuing into Letchworth, this in turn causes traffic down the slip road & causes standstill traffic on the motorway. People then become nervous because they are unsure when to go, which creates more of a build up. Then people don’t indicate coming off the roundabout, people slam their brakes on & causes an accident.
