All along A69 from Denton Burn to Heddon on the Wall and no doubt beyond

Huge amounts of litter on both carriageways north and south. Photo shows what I collected from the slip road from Heddon on the wall to southbound A69. I don’t think the collection trucks have sufficient barriers to stop waste coming out as they travel the highways. We look like a third world country instead of a green and pleasant land and I’d be interested to know if refuse collectors should be responsible if their vehicles trash the countryside. If not what do people doing community service actually do? Happy to do some training if you are unable to.

This is getting worse. Do you want me to collect on the A69 as well. I do have a high viz jacket but I’m 77 so publicity might not be good for you

Refuse collectors’ trucks must be checked so that waste cannot escape. The A69 is still a disgrace and nothing has been done. Waste of time reporting
