Multiple flags on every street light
Reported via mobile in the Flyposting (NH) category anonymously at 07:39, Wednesday 4 February 2026
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8833368.
Overnight, EVERY street light between the A5 and Bayston Hill in both directions have had flags raised on them. The flags have been secured at the very top of the vertical street lamp pole, right behind the lamp (in order to prevent them being removed); and when I drove through at 7pm last night the wind had caused the flags to wrap around actual lamp itself causing the light to to be obscured and it was reducing visibility.
This has been a persistent nuisance since November 2025. They were removed 2 weeks ago, but the vandals erecting the flags have now gone too far up the pole, and are causing a danger by obscuring the light.
Street lamps are a safety feature of our highways and are not supposed to be used in this dangerous manner for any type of political message.
By obstructing the actual lamp itself, the flags are now causing a danger and are a nuisance.
I’d be grateful if you would please remove them at your very earliest opportunity. Thank you.
