Deep pothole

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8825506.

Between Junc 23 and junction 22 at 8.20 I hit a pothole in the 3rd lane and managed to limp to hard shoulder for the RAC to change the wheel. There are lights on the section but not switched on so had no warning of the hole till I hit it with an almighty bang. I noted the number on the nearest post as 23 / 4.

Updates

  • I have reviewed a report from the 7th Jan which suggests that a piece of concrete was raised and caused damage to a car. It is feasible that it could have been a similar piece of concrete I hit rather than a pothole. The RAC man advised the wheel was bent so will be taking for inspection tomorrow to understand which is the likelihood. A second car also broke down behind me this evening.
