Entire length of M6, central reservation both northbound and Southbound

Large amount of debris along the concrete central reservation both northbound and southbound side, vetting from old tyres, cones, wipers piles of mud, sand and vegetation. We spend millions of pounds on upgrading this motorway but we can’t get a road sweeper out during the night when traffic is quiet surely we should look after it and avoid t hi s debris from ending up on live motorway lanes.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the redundant traffic management equipment. We will arrange for one of our local inspectors to investigate this. Where we have identified redundant equipment, this will be removed. However, in some cases we do leave items in place for future use.
