Dipped

Reported via mobile in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 20:01, Tuesday 27 January 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8782216.

Between each of the drains outside the four properties on the A38 the surface is dipped. This creates bodies of surface water to a depth of two inches. It is a hazard to traffic, when HGV’s pass and are closer to the curb, water is thrown across the public footpath onto the properties. The water and debris are hitting the windows on the ground floor and first floor. We have experienced damp issues and now understand what has caused this. My dogs will not sleep when this happens as the noise of the water thrown up the living room and kitchen window from an HGV passing at 60mph has caused them to have behavioural issues. I will keep raising this until it is resolved. I am also looking for a solicitor who will take this on without charge as I am utterly fed up of the situation. It is affecting my work life and home life.
