M40 junction with M25 heading towards London, pothole causing ture damage

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 16:59, Tuesday 27 January 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8780998.

I am writing to formally file a complaint and request a refund for expenses incurred due to a flat tyre incident on your motorway on the evening of November 21, around 9:50 PM. The incident occurred near the M40 junction with M25 while driving the vehicle, Mercedes s500 ,towards London from the west. While driving, I hit a pothole which caused my tyre to be cut, and I lost control of the steering wheel but managed to stop safely in a ditch. I contacted the breakdown assistance team, but unfortunately, the first team that arrived did not have a replacement tyre available. I then had to call other teams until one arrived with mobile tyres and was able to replace my damaged tyre. Due to this situation, I had to spend money on getting the tyre replaced urgently. I request a refund for the costs associated with the tyre replacement as this was caused by poor road conditions on your motorway. Attached are the receipts and documents related to the tyre replacement expenses. I trust High Motorways will take responsibility for this matter and provide a timely refund. Please confirm receipt of this complaint and inform me about the next steps. Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.
