Potholes

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8739934.

Potholes in all 3 lanes, just before junction 5 on the M60 i hit it today doing 70mph in the middle lane, but getting bad on the inside lane and the fast lane too, currently unavoidable and hugely dangerous.

  • The potholes are extensive and mainly affect the middle lane, which you have to move into to allow merging traffic in the first lane. They are possible responsible for unbalanced my wheels. This issue has been there for at least a year.

  • I hit a huge pothole about 8pm last night at 70mph in the middle lane, clockwise. Where there are no lights on the motorway. A van and myself pulled out from the slow lane as traffic would be merging from the left and the hole covered the whole lane and could not be seen or avoided. A serious accident will happen as it’s really deep.

  • I have experienced same as previous reporters this morning, I hit at somewhere between 60 & 70 miles an hour as I attempted to slow down as I spotted the damage to the surface of the road. I was sent into the second overtaking lane by my cars response to hitting one of the multiple unavoidably large potholes. It also appears that my nearside front wheel has been damaged. This seems incredibly dangerous and should be considered a priority as an emergency repair before there is a serious incident.

  • Same gradually worsening condition as other have said. Middle lane is currently the worst. A car could overturn swerving to avoid these in either of the 3 lanes. Needs more work than just simple patching.

  • All 3 lanes have large potholes that are deteriorating by the day. They are unavoidable and a danger to drivers and undoubtedly are causing damage to vehicles.
