Pothole south bound

Reported via mobile in the Pothole (NH) category anonymously at 18:53, Wednesday 21 January 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8738130.

Multiple potholes in the fast lane going south bound. Caused 2 blow outs in front of the car we were travelling in. Needs sorting. They’ve been getting worse for a good few months now.

Updates

  • The outside lane in this area is lethal. The potholes are multiple, impossible to avoid and in places 4 to 6 inches deep. I am surprised there haven't been major accidents in this area due to these, because the damage it is doing to cars will cause one before long. I see this has been reported multiple times and closed: that is negligence in my view. Get this repaired before someone is injured or worse.

  • Large deep pot holes and debris on the road that has caused a cracked windscreen requiring a replacement. these needed to be sorted asap otherwise it will cause a significant accident.

  • These pot holes are seriously bad . They need attention asap . I travel this way every day so I know to avoid the 4th lane . They just keep filling the holes since the road was in road works with a 50mph limit . The road needs a proper good resurface .

  • Thank you for making your report. We have asked our inspection team to attend this location and assess the issue.

If any work is needed, they will arrange for this to happen. Should no immediate work be required we will continue to monitor this during our regular inspections.

Although we always aim to complete repairs as quickly as possible, timescales do vary as we try to minimise disruption to customers by combining activities into single closures and always ensuring the safety of our people.

    Kind regards National Highways
