Pedestrian refuge crossing - bollards no longer lit up

Reported via desktop in the Lighting issue that may impact people with a disability (NH) category anonymously at 11:47, Monday 19 January 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8719230.

This is a busy section of road on a bend and a few months ago the lamp with a large ball on the top was removed from the refuge island and the lights in the bollards stopped working. When crossing at night it's very dangerous as vehicles cannot see you.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways.

The category you selected for your report, Disability Access, is for future physical changes that we might need to make to our Network, that might aid people with a disability. Unfortunately, the issue you reported doesn’t fall into this category.

If the repair to the Network is still required, we would advise that you record this under a more suitable category or report it via our Contact Centre using href=mailto:info@nationalhighways.co.uk>info@nationalhighways.co.uk, from a safe place.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
