Standing water

Reported via mobile in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 22:15, Thursday 15 January 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8697845.

This may not be the exact location however it is the vicinity. This area of the A46 joining between the Melton Mowbray junction slip on to the A46 towards Cotgrave has an issue with standing water in lane 1. When there is excess rain, the road causes an extreme danger due to aquaplaning for smaller vehicles in lane 1 and for smaller vehicles in lane 2 when a HGV drives through the standing water and causes excessive splashing to vehicles within its perimeter. This area of water is around 50 meters in length and has nearly caused loss of control to many cars.
