Void in footpath

Reported via mobile in the Pavement/footpath/cycleway/bridleway issue (NH) category anonymously at 21:49, Thursday 15 January 2026

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8697735.

During geotechnical asset inspections for National Highways we have identified a 30m long section of footpath adjacent to westbound carriageway where as a consequence of the stone retaining wall failing, there is a tension crack developing at the rear of the footpath. The crack is not visible due to detritus obscuring it, but adjacent to the road sign, there is now a physical void, measuring approximately 400mm x 300mm x 350mm.
