Pothole on inside lane travelling southbound between junctions 8 and 7a

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 8687531.

The pothole is roughly half the width of the road and deep. it is on the hard shoulder side of the lane. I whilst driving on the road this morning as was being overtaken nearly dived onto the hard shoulder to avoid hitting it. There was just enough room to get my left wheels around it. Unsure how long it has been there as despite a regular user of this road, I am normally in the middle or outside lanes at this point as that section at the time I travel is normally full of lorries.
